Using the Post-Production Console’s Playback Control

VodBurner has a powerful Post-Production Console where you can edit the Skype video conversations that you have recorded with VodBurner.

The Post-Production Console is comprised of three sections:

  1. Menu Control (indicated by the grey rectangle)
  2. Transition Control (indicated by the pink rectangle)
  3. Playback Control (indicated by the blue rectangle)

The Post-Production Console’s Playback Control looks like the following (the area shown in full color is the Playback Control area):

Post-Production Preview

In the below close up of the Playback Control, the large box on the left shows the video that you are producing.  This is known as the Post-Production Preview.  When you add click ‘Play’ (in the Post-Production Console’s Menu), the edited video that you are working on will play back in the Post-Production Preview area.  As the video plays back through different ‘Transitions‘ in your video project, the Post-Production Preview will change in its playback according (i.e. as the camera changes from Your Side to Other Side, or Both Sides etc).  If you have added captioning to the video, the captioning will appear in the Post-Production Preview also (as shown in the below example – as indicated by the full color area and pointed arrow):

Your side of the call

In the below close up of the Playback Control, the small box on the lower right shows your side of the call (complete and uninterrupted).  When you add click ‘Play’ (in the Post-Production Console’s Menu), your side of the video will play back in this area (regardless of the different transitions in the project).  Captioning is not shown in this area.  This area shows you your side of the call at a specific point in time (depending on the position of the Stylus, video playback etc).  A close-up of “Your complete side of the call” area is shown below (as indicated by the full color area and pointed arrow):

In the below close up of the Playback Control, the small box on the top right shows the other side of the call (as in, the person on Skype who you were talking to).  When you add click ‘Play’ (in the Post-Production Console’s Menu), the other side of the video will play back in this area (regardless of the different transitions in the project).  Captioning is not shown in this area.  This area shows you the other side of the call at a specific point in time (depending on the position of the Stylus, video playback etc).  A close-up of “Your complete side of the call” area is shown below (as indicated by the full color area and pointed arrow):
